大阪府立大学の国際セミナーにご招待いただき、遺族へのグリーフケアについてお話をしました。大阪府立大学の看護学部の方々は毎年ハワイ研修でホスピスハワイ にもいらっしゃいます。学生の方々も先生方も熱心な方ばかりで、ホスピスハワイ のスタッフもいらっしゃるのを楽しみにしています。

Community nurses and social workers attend Dr. Morita’s lecture on “Grief Care for Bereaved Families.” The seminar was sponsored by Osaka Prefecture University and presented to community nurses and social workers who learned tools on how to deal effectively with grief issues experienced by the loved ones, family and friends of terminally ill patients.
毎年アラモアナビーチパークで行われる灯籠流しに、ボランティアとして参加しているのですが、ボランティアとしてどういったことをしているのかKHON局にインタビューを受けました。それを見ていたご遺族に「テレビ見たわよ！」と言われて、嬉しいやら恥ずかしいやら。

At the Annual Shinyo-en Lantern Floating Festival held each Memorial Day at Ala Moana Beach Park, Dr. Morita is interviewed by local television reporter Jai Cunningham (KHON TV) to discuss the emotional relief many participants feel when they remember their loved ones who passed away.
アラモアナパークの灯籠流しでは毎年50,000人ほどの参加者と100名以上のボランティアが集まります。そのボランティア研修で、参加される遺族に対しボランティアとしてできるサポートについてのお話をしました。

Dr. Morita volunteers to provide instruction to volunteers on how to manage the grief expressed by the participants at the Annual Shinnyo-en Lantern Floating Festival held each Memorial Day weekend at Ala Moana Beach Park. She has volunteered her expertise in grief counseling to the Honolulu community at this event for the last five years.
