JrSr Project: A Message to Future Doctors
先日、町先生がJr Srで新しく立ち上げた「未来の医師へ」プロジェクトのYoutubeレコーディングを終えました。これは将来医者になろうと頑張っている小学生から高校生向けに、外国で活躍していた、また活躍している医療従事者がメッセージを送るものです。これからのグローバル社会でどういった医師が求められるのかを、それぞれのスピーカーが自身の経験から語っています。私はアメリカで教育を受けて、キャリアを積んできた一人として英語力と人間力の必要性についてお話ししました。今後も頼もしい町先生のお仲間たちが続々と登場するようですよ。

Dr. Junji Machi of the University of Hawaii Medical School created this project to inspire young students who are considering a career in medicine. Dr. Machi asked medical professionals who have worked or trained abroad as well as those who are currently providing care at institutions outside of Japan to share their experiences with this young targeted audience on Youtube. As a clinical psychologist who was educated and trained in the United States, I shared two thoughts: (1) the importance of English competency to expand their training and (2) embracing a deep sense of compassion that transcends any cultural differences. The recording is entirely in Japanese.
